3D Printing Request Form

Have an idea you want to bring to life? Submit your design and let our library’s 3D printer do the magic!

Cost

Patrons will be charged a minimal fee for replacing the amount of filament required for their model. Filament color to be used will be at the discretion of the library based on available resources.

Finding a Model

Patrons can find models they would like created from a number of sources: Thingiverse, Printables, or Makerworld, to name a few.

Submitting a Model for Creation

Please fill out the request form below and include the link to the model you would like printed. You will receive a return email with the estimated cost for approval before the model is created.

How Long Will It Take?

Printing is done on a first-come, first-served basis. Patrons are not required to stay for the printing process as it can take many hours. There may at times be multiple days or weeks before prints are ready, based on the number of requests. PCPL is unable to print anything which takes longer than 8 hours, which includes many cosplay items that are too large to print in one piece. Library programs take priority over patron prints in the event of a scheduling overlap.

Additional Information

3D printing can be difficult and time-consuming. PCPL does not guarantee any print’s success or quality. Only Library staff and trained individuals will have hands-on access. Models will be given two chances for a successful print. In the event a model is not able to be completed, patrons will be notified and will not be charged for filament of failed prints.

Sorry, We Can’t Print That!

PCPL has the right to decline a 3D print request for any reason. The 3D printer may be used for lawful purposes only. The Library will not create any objects that are prohibited by law or deemed unsafe, harmful, dangerous, or obscene. PCPL does not endorse any final products or intended use of any print requests.

Pickup

Library staff will contact the patron when their print request is completed. All 3D prints must be picked up and paid for at the front desk within 14 days of notification of completion, during regular library hours. Failure to pick up a print will result in the item being sold to another patron to recover costs of filament.
